The savory aroma of soup can be smelled while passing by the Garden and Cooking Club choice block on Fridays.
Every week, the club will either be making test batches of soup or ladling them out to the IACS community. “Anyone can come grab a cup!” said Garden and Cooking Club teacher Melissa Connors.
The first soup they made was a carrot thyme soup, consisting of potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, and thyme.
The soup is free, though donations are greatly appreciated by the club. Half of the donations go towards a community organization that the club votes on each week. Their first donations from their carrot thyme soup are going to the Lowell Transitional Living Center.
