Last January the IACS cheer team arrived at a home game at Notre Dame Academy hoping to perform their halftime routine. They were unsure if they could because they knew some of their teammates were academically ineligible.
Right before the game, the coach told the team they could not perform, recalled member of the Cheer Team Jade King. They had been practicing with all of these girls in their routine. Since it would be too hard to rearrange the routine, the whole team was penalized and they could not perform their halftime show.
The IACS Student Government is making big changes! Remember the days in IACS before a vending machine, microwaves, and a modern dress code? All those things were brought to the student body by past IACS governments. This year, student government is continuing to evolve and is gaining power and sway to what happens in our school.
There have been many changes made to IACS this year, that have greatly affected both the staff and student body. The schedule change has been the largest difference and since with change comes sacrifice, many other aspects of the school day have changed as well.
As the end of 2015 fast approaches, the first trimester division of choice blocks at IACS is also coming to an end. This means that students are faced with the decision of what to choose for their new clubs on Tuesdays and Fridays for the coming months. This trimester’s list has many unique choices, including some brand new ones as well as ones that have been offered in years past.
During the past ten weeks, the IACS Girl’s Soccer Team had a great season. As of October 21, the Hawks had 5 losses and 9 wins. This got them into the 2015 Fall soccer playoffs!Continue reading “Playoffs Cease the Season”
